THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Administrative Reforms Commission on Saturday decided to prepare a comprehensive approach paper on the functioning of the panel. The decision was taken at the meeting of ARC which was attended by experts of more than 20 sectors. The general view at the meeting was to recommend suggestions which are aimed at taking the state forward based on the changes that have occurred in the physical infrastructure facilities and administrative initiatives.
At the meeting, elaborate presentations were made on various topics including effective administrative machinery, coordination between various departments, the methodology of service delivery, modern management techniques, financial management, human resource development, transparency in administration and right to information. “The ARC meet decided to collect feedback at various levels in the administrative set up and the general public for making recommendations to the panel,” ARC chairman V.S. Achuthanandan said.
"This is the fourth Administrative Reforms Commission since the formation of the state. Some of the recommendations made by the previous commissions had not been implemented yet. There are other suggestions that have been implemented effectively. Some of the recommendations made earlier may not be practical today. So there is a need to alter these according to the present day needs,” he said.
